Privacy Policy

This page explains what information BedrockMatch collects from homeowners, how we use it to connect you with local retrofit contractors, and what choices you have. We use plain language because privacy should be easy to understand before you [get matched, free](/get-matched/).

What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy applies to information you share with BedrockMatch through our website, forms, phone calls, text messages, email, and related homeowner matching services. BedrockMatch is a free flat-fee matching service for homeowners. Participating contractors pay a flat fee to be introduced. BedrockMatch does not take a commission, percentage, or cut of the cost of the work.

BedrockMatch is not a contractor, structural engineer, or licensed inspector. We do not perform retrofit work, inspect homes, or decide what work your home needs. Any scope, price, timeline, permit, code, or engineering question must be confirmed directly with a licensed contractor or engineer.

This policy also explains an important limit: using BedrockMatch does not create a promise about safety, damage reduction, insurance savings, or project results. Retrofit needs and outcomes depend on the home, region, existing conditions, and the work actually performed.

Information we collect when you contact us

When you contact us, we collect the basic information needed to understand your request and try to make a match. This may include your name, phone number, email address, property address, ZIP code, language preference, and basic details about the home and your project interests, such as foundation type, crawl space access, age of the home, or whether you are asking about services listed on our services.

We aim to collect home basics and contact details only. We do not ask for or require your bank account number, credit card number, Social Security number, or immigration status in order to use our homeowner matching service.

If you call, email, text, or submit a form, we may keep a record of that communication so we can respond, follow up, and improve our process. If you choose not to provide certain basic details, we may not be able to connect you with participating contractors.

Examples of information we may collect:

  • Contact details you provide
  • Property location and basic home characteristics
  • Your preferred time, language, and method for contact
  • Notes about the kind of retrofit help you are seeking

How we use your information to make matches

We use your information to review your request, confirm that it appears related to earthquake or storm retrofit work, and identify participating contractors that may serve your area and project type. Our role is limited to marketing and matching. The homeowner keeps control over whether to respond, request estimates, or hire anyone.

We may also use your information to contact you about your request by phone, text message, or email, including to ask follow-up questions, confirm details, or let you know when your information has been shared with participating contractors. By submitting a form or asking us to contact you, you agree that BedrockMatch and participating contractors may contact you about your request using the contact information you provide, subject to applicable law.

This includes consent to receive calls and texts related to your inquiry, including through automated technology where allowed. Your consent is not a condition of buying anything, because BedrockMatch does not sell construction services to homeowners. Message and data rates may apply if your mobile carrier charges them.

We may also use information in aggregated or de-identified form to understand demand, improve our website, and improve how we present resources such as get matched, free.

When we share information with participating contractors

If your request appears to fit our service, we may share your contact details and basic project information with one or more participating contractors that serve your area or project type. We describe these contractors as vetted, but you must still verify each contractor's license, bond, insurance, references, scope, and pricing for yourself before hiring anyone.

We share only the information reasonably needed for a contractor to decide whether to contact you about your request. This commonly includes:

  1. Your name and contact details
  2. Property address or project location
  3. Basic home details and the type of work you asked about
  4. Preferred language or best time to reach you

Once your information is shared with a participating contractor, that contractor may keep and use your information under its own privacy practices and legal obligations. BedrockMatch is not responsible for the independent acts, statements, or estimates of any contractor.

We may also share information when required by law, to respond to legal process, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or asset sale.

Cookies, analytics, and website activity

Like most websites, we may use cookies and similar technologies to understand website activity and improve performance. These tools can help us remember basic preferences, measure which pages are useful, and understand whether people complete a contact form.

The information collected through cookies or analytics may include your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, time on page, referring website, and general location based on IP. We use this information to operate and improve the site, not to make engineering decisions about your home.

You can usually control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work. If we use third-party analytics or communications tools, those providers may process website activity information on our behalf under their own terms.

Your choices about calls, texts, and emails

You can ask us not to contact you again, and you can ask participating contractors to stop contacting you as well. The easiest way is to follow the opt-out instructions in a message, reply STOP to a text when available, use an unsubscribe link in an email, or contact us directly and tell us what communications you want to stop.

Opting out of marketing or follow-up messages does not undo information already shared with participating contractors before your request was processed. If a contractor already received your information, you should also contact that contractor directly and ask them to stop using your information for follow-up.

Please note that we may still send limited non-marketing communications that are necessary to handle a request you started, respond to a privacy inquiry, keep records of an opt-out request, or comply with legal obligations.

How we protect and retain your information | How to contact us about privacy questions

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. No website, email system, text platform, or database is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for matching, follow-up, recordkeeping, dispute handling, legal compliance, fraud prevention, and improving our services. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of communication, whether your request was matched, and our legal obligations.

If you have a privacy question, want to update your information, or want to request that we stop contacting you, please contact BedrockMatch through the contact details shown on this website. When you reach out, please include enough information for us to identify your request, such as the name, phone number, email address, or property address you used.

For clarity, BedrockMatch is a free homeowner matching service only. We do not provide engineering, inspection, code, or legal advice, and we do not guarantee contractor availability, project results, safety outcomes, or insurance savings.

In plain English: We collect basic contact and home information so we can try to connect you with local participating contractors, and you can ask us to stop calls, texts, or emails at any time.
